Iron supplements are so hit and miss. This is easy to remember to take. It tasted like a sickly syrup, but I've had worse so can't complain. As its winter I can keep it at my bedside table and take a sip every morning.
I got this for my daughter who has ARFID - she can't take tablets and has an extremely limited diet. She is anaemic and severely lacking in most vitamins so this was yet another attempt to get something good into her body.
I wasn't sure she'd even try this but she'll have a go at liquids - the taste is just ok - it's quite sweet but it does leave a yukky aftertaste so we have to have a drink of water ready.
For those of you familiar with ARFID, even one mouthful of this is a huge achievement and the fact that she has taken it every day for a week now just makes me so happy! I can definitely see an improvement in her already - not massive but noticeable - she is a bit less pale and a bit more alert during the day so fingers crossed this will last.
If you need iron supplements, but don't like taking capsules or tablets, then this is definitely something you should consider. There's a fruity flavour too it, but it's a bit on the sweet side. My normal iron supplements had ran out, so these came at a good time. I did find myself less tired after taking these so it definitely has some impact.
At £19, it's not bad value.
Nice sweet fruity flavour which makes for a pleasant way to easily swallow the liquid .
Can’t comment on the absorption as I have no way of knowing but in theory it has the other minerals that I believe help with the absorption of iron into your body’s system
